MINUTES OF THE ORDINARY COUNCIL MEETING

HELD 19th November 2024

 

Present: Cllrs Bradley, Morlini & McCaig

Mrs J. Cooper (Parish Clerk)

There were no members of the public present.

 

Cllr McCaig took the Chair as Vice Chairman

 

54          APOLOGIES

                Apologies were emailed from Cllr Smith.

                Cllr S. Eyre (ELDC) sent his apologies

55          DECLARATIONS

                There were none

56          UPDATE ON VACANCIES

                The Clerk had received no applications, notices were on the notice board, the web site and the Council’s facebook page.

57          MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 15TH OCTOBER 2024

                It was resolved that the Chairman sign the minutes of that meeting as a correct record.

58          UPDATE FROM THAT MEETING

  • Woodland Trust Free Trees – these had to be on land accessible to the public with community involvement.
  • Christmas Tree – Cllr Smith and Cllr Bradley liaising for a 9’ high Christmas tree to be delivered to the Red Lion.  Cost £14 + VAT (to be paid at the next meeting).

59          OUTSTANDING VILLAGE MATTERS

  • Footpath – still held at LCC, staff shortages causing delays, hope to be dealt with in 2025.
  • Church – Clerk received email from Mr Oliver who is in talks with the Diocese over the use of the Church as workshops and community use.  Should have further update at the next meeting.  Agreed to relook at access at the next meeting.

60          REPORTS FROM OUTSIDE BODIES

                There were none

61          GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE

                Email survey on Parish Councils thoughts on allowing some remote access to meetings, it was felt not appropriate at this time due to need to provide a better laptop and wi fi at the meeting place. 

                Notice on road works – layby A52 – 2nd January for tree work.

62          CEMETERY FEES

                Discussion on cemetery fees followed and it was resolved that these not be amended.

 

 

63          ALLOTMENT FEES

                Discussion on allotments fees followed and it was resolved these not be amended, but stay at £25 pa

64          FINANCE

                a)  it was resolved that the following accounts be paid.

                Clerks salary & PAYE (November)                                     £347.10

                R. Aldrich                                                                                          £739.00

                Wren Farm                                                                                       £  15.00

                It was resolved that these all be paid by BACS

                b)  Budget/precept

                Draft budget (amended to reflect salary increase agreed by NALC and to include expenditure on bank charges).  This was noted, to be finalised in January once Tax Base known.

                There were no applications
